Book in a Man Booker Prize Winner

Bookshelf bare? Need a new novel to wrap up with this winter?

Unfortunately, no, a new ‘Scott Pilgrim’ chapter has not been announced, but if you’re into critically lauded book club material then you’ll be happy to know the Man Booker Prize winner is announced this eve, so you can make a trip into Waterstones in your lunch hour tomorrow.

From a tale spun from the discovery of a diary washed ashore in a Hello Kitty lunchbox to an account of Mary’s grief following her son’s death by crucifix, the six books and writers up for the prize are as expectedly diverse and experimental as ever. The money is on Jim Crace’s ‘Harvest’ and, following the predicted wins of Hilary Mantel and Julian Barnes the past two years, I wouldn’t be surprised – but turn the page later on Twitter to find out for sure!
